There will be a pop-up showroom set up at the high school with over 25 name brand mattresses on display. Everything is specially ordered and offered at a huge discount!

Fine Arts Festival: April 27th

The greatest way Firelands celebrates student art is at the annual district Fine Arts Festival. This k-12 event has been going on since the mid-90s. This free community event is an art market, art-making, a digital alumni art exhibition, K-12 art awards, entertainment and food trucks framing a massive K-12 art exhibition with hundreds of student works.


The cafeteria will be the hub of the festival with the exhibition, market and art-making
Hundreds of works of K-12 art on display. Student art vendors selling jewelry, stickers, drawings and more
Free make-it-take-it button-making, card crafts and more! Guitar entertainment from Kevin Hobson in the gallery and FHS vocal ensembles on stage. Alumni Art Exhibition on the digital displays. Art awards in the auditorium, grades K-5 from 1-2:00 pm, grades 6-12 from 2:30-3:30 pm. Food trucks from “Mellow Yellow” Pizzeria in Norwalk and “Trailer Perk Mobile” from alumni Savannah Klingman will be on site.

School Bus Road-E-O!

This weekend, FLSD will be hosting the annual Bus Road-E-O! Our parking lots will be full of drivers from Ashland, Crawford, Cuyahoga, Erie, Gallion, Huron, Lorain, Medina, Orange, Ottawa, Richland and Sandusky Counties!

During this competition, bus driver’s from around Ohio gather to test their driving skills and knowledge of the yellow school bus!

LBH SteakFry: May 11

LBH volunteers are excited to be hosting a steak fry fundraiser for the Leota Bettcher Hall to continue to provide a community center for folks to enjoy!

BHA: Grandma’s Attic Sale

Date: Friday & Saturday, April 26th & 27th, 2024

Time: 9:00 – 3:00PM

Location: Historic Brownhelm School, 1950 North Ridge Road, Vermilion

What: Brownhelm Historical Association is hosting their spring Grandma’s Attic Sale on Friday & Saturday, April 26th & 27th from 9:00am to 3:00pm both days! Come out to see what amazing treasures you’ll find! All proceeds benefit the restoration of the Brownhelm School. From kitchenware and household goods, to antiques, tools, and furniture, you’re sure to walk out with an armful (or car load!) of treasures. We are also putting on our spring plant sale, so definitely stop by to stock up on beautiful spring foliage for your yard! Please note that everything will be half price on Saturday and we will also be holding a $2/bag or $5/box sale the following Monday, April 29th, from 9:00am to 10:30am. All proceeds from this sale will go toward the restoration and maintenance of the Historic Brownhelm School

Camp Invention

Camp Invention is back at Firelands Elementary School.  The dates will be June 11-14 for students in grades K-5.  This year’s camp is a 4-day camp, so the day is a little longer.  It is from 8:30-4:00.  If you need before or after care, that is available for an extra cost.

We have scholarship money available to help defray the cost.  You can email or text to get the link.  If you do not need the scholarship you can register on the website (campinvention.org).
