Firelands Local Schools is proud of our history and has taken great care to collect yearbooks from 1955 to present. We preserve three copies, when possible, of the Firelands High School Yearbook, The Torch. These yearbooks are located at the BOE and are available (by appointment) to be viewed by contacting Jennifer Butchko at (440) 965-5821 ext 1015 or jbutchko@firelandsschools.org. These district copies will never be sold.
In addition to cataloging these yearbooks, we also have a surplus of various years for sale. The proceeds will support the creation of new yearbooks and future historic planning. As always, we accept the donations of any FHS, FMS (SAMS), or FES yearbooks. Donations will allow us to increase our collection and offer others the chance to purchase a yearbook while supporting this program.
We do have a surplus of yearbooks from SAMS (South Amherst Middle School) that are also available for sale. District copies are also maintained for these editions. Please see the second table for availability.
Yearbooks are sold on a first come, first served basis. Quantities/conditions vary for each year and several years only have 1 or 2 copies available. Yearbooks will be available for pick up at the Firelands Board of Education in South Amherst, OH during May and early June. If you call or email a request for purchase, please include your name, phone number, yearbook school and year. Books will be held for a one week pick up. Cost for yearbooks: FHS = $40.00 and SAMS = $10.00. Check or cash sales, please. Conditions of the yearbooks vary with some new and some used.
