Construction Update: April 14, 2021

Our construction crews are making great progress on the new Firelands High School!

From the Falcon Stadium it is easy to see how much has been completed on the new 106,630 square foot high school! Areas of recent concentrated work include:

  • The concrete contractor has installed all of the perimeter footers. The elevator pit and foundation have been excavated.

  • The mason contractor has completed the installation of the foundation block in all areas. Pictured above you can see that the north, east and west walls of the high school gymnasium have been completed! The contractor will soon start working on the auxiliary gymnasium and stage.

  • Plumbers and electricians are working to install sleeves in the footers and masonry walls as needed.

Next week, a 56 foot long support beam will be on site. One side of the beam will be painted white in order for students, staff and community members to sign the beam! The beam will be placed near the new stage and the signatures will be visible from the stage looking out. Watch for additional information regarding the beam signing to be shared soon!

The project continues to be on schedule for completion in summer 2022.
