Open Enrollment for 2021-2022 will begin on February 1, 2021!
Starting Monday, February 1st, the Firelands Local School District will be accepting new K-12 enrollment applications for the 2021-2022 school year. Parents from any school district in Ohio are welcome to apply, but space is limited and will typically be awarded on a first come, first served basis. Enrollment is tuition free, but parents/guardians must pay for all school fees.
If a grade level closes, we will still encourage parents to complete the open enrollment application and we will maintain waiting lists until July 1st. On July 1st, open enrollment will end for the 2021-2022 school year.
We use an online application through Google that is very user friendly and accessible. The online application will open on February 1st at 7:30 a.m. You do not have to come in person as the online application is time-stamped. You may also need to upload PDF documents for IEP, WEP or 504 plans.
Official notification of your status will come from the Superintendent’s Office by e-mail throughout the open enrollment process. Please contact Sue Schaefer at (440) 965-5821 ext. 1010 if you have any questions or are having problems with the online application.
March 1st – Parents of students in grades 1-12 are notified of their open enrollment status (accepted, waitlist, denied). April 1st – Parents of new Kindergarten students are notified of their open enrollment status (accepted, waitlist, denied).
RETURNING Open Enrollment Parents: If your child was open-enrolled last year, you must confirm that they are continuing in 2021-2022 by filling out the quick online form indicated below. You will receive confirmation of your child’s continued open enrollment status by e-mail from the Superintendent’s Office.

Open Enrollment Due to Moving Out of District (Link: https://forms.gle/vSJFznmiJKoUyxWp6) If an already enrolled Firelands District family moves out of the district but wishes to keep their students in Firelands Schools, the “Moving Out of District” open enrollment form must be used. Your children will become open enrolled and you will have to confirm their status annually as “returning” open enrollment students.
