Career Fair: February 20th at FHS
The career readiness fair is an opportunity for our current students, graduates, and underemployed community members to meet with local businesses, adult education programs, military recruiters, and career counselors to learn about viable pipelines to quality employment. We have a lot of high paying jobs in our area, yet many who are not trained to fill those positions. Providing awareness of the employment potential and the training programs needed to fulfill these positions will close the skill gaps for employers. It will also offer better wages for individuals in our community, allowing for a higher standard of living.
Many of the employers who are at the fair are willing to train individuals who possess the necessary employability skills. Currently, our community has numerous opportunities for hardworking individuals from the organization listed below. The Brownhelm Historical Association supports Firelands Local Schools
South Amherst, Ohio – February 3, 2020
The Firelands Local School District (FLSD) is pleased to announce that the Brownhelm Historical Association (BHA) has provided the District direct support in the amount of a $1,800.00 donation.
Due to the BHA’s fundraising efforts, the district shall receive funds that will:
- support the Firelands Elementary School Library
- support students in financial need who wish to attend the historic Philadelphia field trip
- support a graduating student who is interested in history that is looking to further their education
The fundraising committee of the BHA was able to exceed their personal fundraising goal and chose to dedicate a separate fundraising event for the benefit of Firelands students.
The Firelands Local School District recognizes this strong partnership from one of our great community organizations. Mike Von Gunten, Superintendent of Firelands Local Schools stated, “Support from The Brownhelm Historical Association is greatly appreciated. Their financial assistance will benefit countless number of students and for that we are extremely grateful. “
