2019 Summer Art Camp Enrollment is OPEN!
- June 17-21 at FHS
The 2019 Summer Art Camp is now enrolling for Firelands students who have just completed grades K through 8. Elementary and middle School art students can spend 5 mornings creating art. Each day will introduce a new topic to inspire the hands-on art projects and activities. Students will draw, paint, print, craft and sculpt during the week, enriching their artistic skills and creative thinking.
Founded by 2017 alumnus Grace Pohorence for her 2016 Girl Scout Gold Award project, this program is planned and operated by the Firelands High School Art Society students. Campers will be divided into four “studios” of completed-grades K-1, 2-3, 4-5 and 6-8 with two high school art students teaching each studio. A maximum of 15 campers will be accepted to each class. A waitlist will be kept. High school art teacher Laura Tawil will be on-site with the students supervising the entire camp.
Camp is held at Firelands Elementary School June 17-21 from 9am until 11am. Camp registration forms are available from the art teachers at FES (Mrs. Proehl) and SAMS (Mrs. Szemplak) and by emailing Laura Tawil at firstname.lastname@example.org. Camp costs $25 per child. Cash is accepted and checks can be made out to “Firelands Fine Arts”. Enrollment closes May 17.
