March 15th is the end of the 3rd grading period. Report cards will be available in PowerSchool on March 20th.

Lunch and A Show: March 26th

This special Lunch and a Show is presented for retired staff and local senior citizens. Be our guest for this free afternoon performance and light lunch on March 26th at noon.

Doors open at noon and lunch will be served immediately.

Fine Arts Festival: April 6, 2019

The greatest K-12 event in the district is back at full strength this year at a new date and place. Saturday April 6 from noon until 4pm the Firelands High School gymnasium and cafeteria will be transformed into a celebration of visual art and vocal and instrumental music performances. Live music, a massive art exhibition, a student art bazaar, refreshments and hands-on activities are what you know and love about this great community event. Contact Laura Tawil (FHS art teacher) if your school-based group would like to be a refreshment vendor or for clean-up. <

Spring Break will be April 19-26. School will resume on April 29th.

5th Annual Grandma’s Attic Sale on April 26th and 27th:

Historic Brownhelm School & Museum Grandma’s Attic Sale features for sale a varietyBHA logo
of household goods, vintage items, collectibles, glassware, dishes, furniture, antiques, tools and much more! This is our biggest fundraiser of the year. Proceeds from the sale provide funding for the continued restoration of the Historic Brownhelm School & Museum. Do you have items you would like to donate? Items may be dropped off each Tuesday from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. The last day for donation drop offs is Saturday, April 13th from 10 a.m. – noon. NOTE: Please no clothes, stuffed toys, or books. We will be moving donations down from storage on the 2nd floor starting Saturday, April 6th and could use some help! We also need volunteers on both sale days at the checkout stations or on the floor. Please contact us at or call Marcia DePalma at 440.315.7910 if you can assist!


Bark in The Park: March 28 & April 25

Bark in the partkTake a walk with the Lorain County Metro Parks staff and their dogs on the North Coast Inland Trail near Splash Zone! We will be hosting a group dog walking adventure on Thursday, March 28, and Thursday, April 25, starting at 2:30 PM on both dates. This is a FREE event however pre-registration is required. Agricultural Education Week at FHS: March 18-22

The Firelands Chapter of FFA will be holding FFA Week March 18-22.FFA VECTOR
The Chapter has many fun activities planned for the week, to help all of FHS celebrate Agricultural Education. Here is a list of the planned events at the high school:

Monday – PJ Day—Also kicks off the FFA Clothing Drive
Tuesday – Red White and Blue—FFA Positivity Project
Wednesday – Blue and Gold— Kicks off a Staff Favorite, the FFA Breakfast for Staff
Thursday – College Apparel Day—Students can sign on the I’ve Decided Wall for College
Friday – Flannel Friday—The Day will also end with a short FFA Pep Rally during FAST.
Of course, the highlight of the week will be Friday, March 22nd with Drive Your Tractor to School Day.

Please be sure to give our students plenty of time and space if you see them on Friday morning!

We are looking for applicants that can work through out the ENTIRE season April-September/ October and definitely be able to work the week of the Lorain County Fair -August 19-25th .
