Basketball Skills and Community League

The boys varsity basketball team is currently running basketball skills clinic for all boysbasketball and girls in the Firelands Community.  Each Saturday morning they are averaging in excess of 100 players participating in the skills clinic.    The conclusion of this six week clinic will lead into the basketball community recreation league.  All games will be held on Saturday’s at SAMS Middle School starting after the first of the year.  Each varsity player will be assisting and coaching one team.  The league will consist of teams made up in the 3rd – 4th grade and the older league will be of 5th and 6th graders.

In addition, they will be kicking off a 1st & 2nd grade Mini-dribblers program that will teach the basics of ball handling, passing, catching and shooting.  This group will have a half time presentation at the February 9th game vs. Open Door.

The remaining clinic time is as follows:

Dec. 29th SAMS: 11-12 5th & 6th     12:15-1:15 3rd & 4th

There is still time to sign up for Firelands Community Youth Basketball! FCYB was created to bring the Firelands community together during the long winter months and to provide the opportunity for boys and girls in grades 1 thru 6 to learn and have fun playing the game of basketball.  3rd-6th graders can sign up for community basketball now until the end of December. 1st and 2nd graders can sign up through mid -January.
