Recently, FES students were able to take part in a Positive Behavioral Intervention & Support (PBIS) activity, Tape a Teacher Day! PBIS is an approach used by our school to help establish evidence-based behavioral interventions to help students achieve success in social, emotional, and academic areas. For this particular program, students were able to use their Falcon Bucks to ‘purchase’ strips of duct tape to try to tape a teacher to the wall!
On Thursday, March 29th, students picked up their pre-purchased strip of duct tape and did their best to tape Mrs. Woods and Mr. Nerlich to the gym wall! The goal was to have as many students as possible tape the teachers so that when the stools that they were standing on were taken away, the teachers would “stick” to the wall.
With all of the students participating, each teacher stuck to the wall! Special thanks to the FES PTG for helping make this event a success, Mrs. Woods and Mr. Nerlich for being such great sports, and to the Conry family for the tape donation!
Watch the slideshow below to see how much our students enjoyed this event!
Here is a clip of when the stool was taken away from Mrs. Woods:
