An additional congratulations to Logan on being selected to be a CYWS Group 1 Featured Solo Competition Winner for The Cleveland Youth Wind Symphony!  This program will take place on April 29th at Brecksville Broadview Hts High School.

CLEVELAND CLINIC HIGHLIGHTS FHS
ARTISTS FOR VIDEO – The Cleveland Clinic is in the process of updating their eXpressions video for the 2018 eXhibition and Firelands high School has been selected to be featured in their 2018 presentation.
The Clinic captured the interaction within the classroom, and also interviewed individual students, along with Mrs. Tawil. These interviews took place on Friday, January 19th.
FHS is looking forward to the presentation of the eXpressions video, which highlights our
very successful Art Program, led by Mrs. Laura Tawil.

 

 

Jimmy Berry-Youth Wrestling

James Berry, a current 4th grader at FES,  took first place at the Ohio Elite Youth Wrestling Association All Star Tournament at Lorain High School. The tournament included teams from all over North East Ohio, stretching out towards Mentor, Ohio.

James is part of the Firelands Youth Wrestling program, which is led by Coach Josh Wolbom. Josh is also the Head Coach for the high school program.

Our young wrestlers are dedicated to the sport and we appreciate their efforts!

Congratulations to Sean Lipscomb and Payton Burgdorf!

Recently, at the Division II sectional tournament at Bay High School, FHS produced two champions in Payton Burgdorf (106) and Sean Lipscomb (285). Further, Connor Eckman (113), Ryan Hoffman (120), Garrett Tester (195) and Tyler Bennett (220) were the Falcons other district qualifiers.  Garrett Tester, who is a first time wrestler, made it to the district tournament!  Good luck at the District Tournament next weekend in Norwalk!

In addition, Sean Lipscomb also became Firelands most winningest wrestler with his 150th career victory after he claimed the heavyweight championship.

Noah Hammond

Noah HammandCongratulations to Noah on his accomplishments at the JVS FFA Nursery and Landscape State Competition at the Columbus Convention Center. Noah and his team placed 8th out of 22 teams. You can read the article from the JVS here.

 

 

 

 

Lorain County Jazz Band

Congratulations to Owen Cogar, Robbie Hogan, and Micheal Carty for being named to the Lorain County Jazz Band recently.

Students at SAMS who exceeded the requirements set forth by the Cleveland MLB organization were recognized as Tribe Scholars. In addition to all of the students who recieved this honor, Joshua Kovach received The Tribe Scholar Role Model Award.
