2018 Youth Summit at The Lodge of New Russia Township in Oberlin on Saturday March 24th from 2-4

Youth Summit 18

You see your friends, classmates, and peers grapple with stressful experiences, academic pressures, and increased responsibilities. It can be hard to start a conversation with a friend who you know is really struggling and might be thinking about harming themselves.

The Youth Summit provides a youth-led approach for helping a friend or fellow student who may be suffering from psychological distress.

Leave the Youth Summit with the skills and confidence to have a compassionate conversation and know how to connect your friend with resources that will help.

Who Should Attend:
Students in grades 7-12 from all school districts in Lorain County. Teachers, staff, and parents: Training for caring adults will focus on challenges, risk factors, and how to help youth cope with stress, trauma, and difficult situations.

In partnership with the Lorain County Board of Mental Health.

Hosted by the Youth Fund, an Affiliate Fund of Community Foundation of Lorain County. The Youth Fund empowers youth to be involved in philanthropy, to be active participants in community service and leadership, and to take part in awarding grants that will improve the quality of life in Lorain County.
