Free driving classes teach safety to teens

Distracted driving can have deadly consequences, and an innovative free program aimed at keeping teens safe is coming to Lorain County.

B.R.A.K.E.S. — Be Responsible and Keep Everyone Safe — was started by champion racer Doug Herbert. As a Top Fuel drag racer and six-time world champion, Herbert knows more than most about driving fast.  Click here to learn more.

BHA logoCivil War Day at Mill Hollow-Vermilion River Reservation September 23, 2017  10:00 – 4:00 pm

Join us for a day of family fun at Mill Hollow! The First Annual Civil War Day will feature an authentic soldier’s encampment, demonstrations on period cooking, educational stations about Civil War era medicine, uniforms, music, and more! Visitors will get a chance to try on period clothing, learn to march like soldiers, and play ‘old fashioned’ games. The historic Bacon Home will also be open for self-guided tours throughout the day. Bring a picnic lunch and spend the day learning about one of the most important periods in American History!
