Alumni Update-August 2017

Scott Schneider, Class of 2006

scott schneiderChef Scott Schneider was recently interviewed by Laura Manske from Community Table. Scott Schneider, is chef de cuisine of Ai Fiori ( “among the flowers” in Italian). The restaurant serves Italian and French Riviera-inspired cuisine at Langham Place, Manhattan. Read the interview here.

Scott is the son of proud parents Julie and Dale Schneider. Julie is the library tech at Firelands Elementary School!

Scott credits his early years in the Culinary program at Lorain County Joint Vocational School as the starting point in his professional career.

 

Lou Tisler, Class of 1982

Lou Tisler Lou Tisler has accepted a position with the National Community Reinvestment Coalition     (NCRC) based in Washington, D.C.  The NCRC was formed in 1990 by national, regional, and local organizations to develop and harness the collective energies of community reinvestment organizations from across the country so as to increase the flow of private capital into traditionally underserved communities. Prior to NCRC, he lead the Neighborhood Housing of Greater Cleveland.

Jeb Larson, Class of 2014

Congratulations to Elyria Police Office Jeb Larson!  Larson accepted a position over the summer with the EPD. Pictured below is Larson being sworn in by Elyria Mayor Holly Brinda. Best wishes to Jeb as he continues to advance in his career! Read the full article here.

Sarah Laughlin: FHS Class of 2012

FHS and Ohio State Graduate Sara Laughlin continues to not only pursue her educational goals – she also remains passionate about her career in the horse world.

Laughlin is two months away from competing in the All American Quarter Horse Congress Queen Competition as the Eastern Ohio Quarter Horse Association Queen 2017.

Laughlin is currently serving as the Student Philanthropy associate for Ohio State’s Office of Student Life while she works towards her master’s in Higher Education and Student Affairs. To catch up with Sarah Click here .

 

Michael Anadell: Class of 2017

Congratulations to Michael Anadell as he was voted the 2017 Lorain County Fairanadell King! Anadell is a 2017 FHS graduate and the Junior Fair President. He attends the Ohio State University at the Wooster campus where he studies beef production. Read The Morning Journal’s coverage here.

The Freshman, Concert and Select Choirs at FHS cordially invite you to join us in song!

Please help us honor America by joining us to sing the National Anthem at the FHS Homecoming Game on Friday, Sept 29th.

Please plan to meet in the music room at 6:30 pm and wear your Falcon Pride attire!!! We look forward to joining in one voice on this very special night.

To add to the fun of the night, join us in the cafeteria from 5-6:15 pm for an Ice Cream Social and catch up with your old friends.
