Firelands Survey

We have less that one week left for you to participate in our survey.

As you may have heard, the district is taking a step back and conducting a multi-phase research process to help us gain a better understanding of what is in the best interest of our students, community, and the educational excellence of our district. Your opinion and feedback is a critical part of this process. We hope you will support these efforts and take this short, online survey by Monday, April 17.

Click here to access the survey or copy and paste this link into your browser: http://research.zarca.com/k/RQsUPVXsRWTsPsPsP
The online survey is anonymous and conducted by a third-party. No names or emails will be captured to assure your anonymity.

We encourage participation from everyone connected to the Firelands community. This includes open enrolled families and people who do not have children currently in the district. Paper and pencil surveys are also available in every building.

FFA TO SUPPORT FARMING COMMUNITIES IN THE MIDWEST

Several FHS students in FFA are  raising money and collecting materials to help communities in America’s heartland. Due to wildfires, tens of thousands of acres of land have been lost, thousands of cattle have cattle destroyed, and miles of fencing ruined. FFA students are organizing a relief trip to Ashland, Kansas during Spring Break to deliver supplies such as fencing, straw, hay, and other materials to support the local community. If you are interested in donating, please contact a member of FFA, or follow this Go Fund Me link.

Host Families Needed

Principal  Maver and the Rotary Club of Oberlin are very excited to WELCOME an International Student to the Firelands School District arriving August of 2017.

We are currently seeking host families in the Firelands School District.

If you could open your home for 3 to 4 months and welcome this person as an extended family member, please contact: Mary AufdenKampe at (216) 570-9669 to get the application process started. It is  essential that we get families that are willing to host or we will not be able to welcome our male student.

The Rotary Club of Oberlin gives this student a monthly stipend and school fees. The host families are responsible for a place to sleep, daily meals, and friendship.

Many will recall 3 years ago we hosted Maxime from Germany to the Firelands School District and it was a positive exchange.

Make our World Small and Share in Youth Exchange!

If you have a son or daughter that is interested in traveling abroad, we have both short-term summer exchange programs available and long-term academic year programs available.

Please contact Mary AufdenKampe or Principal Mr. Maver at (440) 965-4255 if interested in hosting ASAP.
