Chad and Amy Grude- Class of 1989
Owners of Express Employment Professionals: Express Employment Professionals is a leading staffing provider in the U.S., Canada and South Africa. Every day, they help job seekers find work and help businesses find qualified employees.
Chad and Amy Grude met their senior year of high school at Firelands, another positive outcome of the Firelands-South Amherst merger in 1989!
Amy was very conscious of her academics and maintained a vision of success in corporate America. She held herself to high standards of excellence by maintaining a 4.0 GPA while being an active membership of National Honors Society, position of VP 1989 Senior Class, member of Student Council and participating in basketball. Chad, a 3rd generationer going through Firelands Schools took academics a little more lightly, but was very active in sports participating in cross county, wrestling and baseball.
After graduation, Chad had earned a scholarship to play college baseball and Amy and academic scholarship. At 19, they decided to defy popular opinion instead, by getting married and starting a family. Chad and Amy both attended Lorain County Community College while working full-time and raising their daughter. Higher education was influenced heavily on Amy, so they decided to support her educational pursuit, where she earned two Associate Degrees from LCCC and a BSBA with a specialization in Healthcare and Finance from Ashland University in 1994. Chad worked for Mullinax Ford, BFI and Invacare during this time, before starting a 17-year career with Norandex Building Materials in 1994. Chad and Amy held the same enduring value, that having Amy in the home caring for their children, was more important than any financial gain. Chad continued to grow in his professional career with Norandex moving up through the ranks, from Warehouse Leader to General Manager in 2009. To fast forward, by 2009 Chad and Amy now had four children all in the Firelands School system, 4th generations! However, also in 2009, the housing market busted and Chad’s professional career changed dramatically.
After nearly 5 years of employment changes and life on the road, The Grudes knew that it was time for something different. In 2014 Chad and Amy believed it was time to embark on their own business, Express Employment Professionals.
Chad and Amy are firm believes in continuous improvement, so Amy is currently enrolled in the Express Leadership Academy. Chad is currently enrolled at LCCC and will graduate with his Associates Degree from Lorain County Community College in May, and will continue at Baldwin Wallace for his Bachelors in Business Psychology. They are dedicated to continued education and meaningful employment for our community members.
