BHA presents Before They Were Famous-Celebrity Veterans of World War II

Wednesday, February 1st at the Carriage Barn at Mill Hollow Parkwwii

Doors open at 6:30pm with a brief business meeting at 7pm with the program to follow.

When Hollywood went to war following the attack on Pearl Harbor, many famous movie stars rushed to join the military. Before they hit it big, many of these men and women risked their lives during the war as ordinary soldiers, sailors, and airmen. Men like Jimmy Stewart and Clark Gable added to their fame by placing themselves in harm’s way, however, many men and women that served during the war didn’t find fame until after the war ended.

Join new BHA member Eric Rivet, curator of the Western Reserve Historical Society, for this audience participation program that showcases the military service of many beloved Hollywood celebrities. From military photographs and information about their service, see if you can guess who they are!  GUESTS WELCOME

Baton Rouge, Louisiana, native Eric Rivet began his museum career in 1996. After nearly 14 years of work on historic naval warships, he became a curator at the National World War II Museum in New Orleans. In October 2015, Rivet moved to Northeast Ohio to become the Curator of Collections and Exhibits at the Western Reserve Historical Society. He resides in Brownhelm  with his wife Katie.
