Congratulations to the Head Boys Basketball Coach Alan Januzzi on his 200th win last Friday against Black River! In keeping the momentum moving, the boys made it 201 wins as they defeated Open Door on Saturday night.
When asked about the win and what it meant to him, Coach Januzzi had the following to say, “I have been very fortunate to coach some great players and coach with some wonderful assistant coaches over the years. The 200 wins really belongs to them. They say that the coaches job is to teach his players about the game and to use the game and participation on a team to teach life lessons, but I have learned more from the players that I have been fortunate enough to coach. Getting to the 200 milestone at Firelands is special because it is my home school district. The joy of coaching at the high school level does not come from the wins, but from the relationships that are established with the players, coaches, school administrators, staff and community members of the schools. I am grateful for those relationships, my family, the God given opportunity to coach and to this year’s team at Firelands for their selflessness, hard work and support.”
Thank you Coach Januzzi for your time and dedication to our district!
