New Staff at SAMS 2016

Ms. Jessica Hoban, Intervention Specialist

My name is Jessica Hoban. I am a Firelands graduate! When I was in school I was very shy. My senior year of high school two teachers challenged me to come out of my comfort zone.

I had the opportunity to be in a program called SCOPE, and through that program I volunteered at Murray Ridge and it pushed me to new levels. Watching the teacher in the room plan and execute lessons intrigued me! He differentiated and individualized lessons to meet the needs of the students. I knew watching that I wanted to become an intervention specialist. I wanted to get to know my students well enough to know how to teach them, to help build on their strengths and challenge their weaknesses.

I have been married for ten years and I have a son named Micah who will be three in a few weeks! I love to garden and read! I am looking forward to working at Firelands because it is a great school district! It is so wonderful to have the opportunity to come back to my home school!

School District and the area all around. I just graduated in May from Walsh University in Canton, Ohio (where the Hall of Fame is) with a degree in Special Education. Also, I recently just got married at the beginning of August and then moved to Westlake, Ohio right after. So I have enjoyed spending my time with my husband, our family and friends, and exploring the area. I am so excited to start the school year here at Firelands, to get to know the district more, and becoming a Falcon!

Please help us welcome Ms. Williams to the SAMS family. Ms. Williams was a substitute last year and we are fortunate to have her as a regular staff member this year. Previously,
