Hidden in Plain Sight

“Our region is battling a drug epidemic and our community is not immune.” Mike Von Gunten, Superintendent of Firelands Local Schools.

“Hidden in Plain Sight” is a traveling adult educational program sponsored by the Copley and Bath Township police departments. This program is designed to educate parents on the signs of hidden drug use. The Lorain County Sheriff’s Department will also be on hand to work with parents.

We know that former students have died as a result of drug overdoses. In an effort to educate our parents and community, Firelands Local Schools will be hosting this program for parents and concerned adults onMonday, March 21st at South Amherst Middle School. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. and the ‘snoop and search’ begins immediately. The presentation will start at 6:30 p.m. Due to the nature of materials presented, no youth are permitted to attend.

We are asking our community to join us for this free presentation. This evening may provide you with the necessary information to start a conversation in your home.

The flyer is also able to be downloaded here: Hidden in plain sight
