LCCC Job Fair

Job seekers can meet prospective employers at the Lorain County Community College  Career Fair from 12-3 p.m., Thursday, April 7 in the Spitzer Conference Center.

More than 100 local employers in a variety of fields, including allied health and nursing, will be at the career fair. See a list of employers

Attendees should bring a current resume, dress professionally and be prepared to network with employers from Lorain, Cuyahoga and surrounding counties.

Lorain County Children Services Fostering Program

If you’ve ever thought about fostering now is the time to take the next step. Join the Lorain County Children Services (LCCS) for an information session on Monday, March 14th at 6 pm. There will be time for you to ask questions, get a valuable information packet and there is absolutely no obligation! Call  LCCS at 440-329-5340 (Fostering Department) to RSVP.

Brownhelm Historical Association

The BHA will be hosting a Paint the Slate event at the Brownhelm school on March 16th at 6:00 pm. Participant will be painting on slate from an old shed that once stood behind the museum on Claus Road. There is still time to register, but spaces are quickly filling up. RSVP to Sue at 440-315-5086. The is event is free with donations accepted and no experience is necessary!

FFA News

March 7-11th is FFA Week! Various activities for FFA and non-FFA members will take place all week. As is tradition, the week will conclude with Drive your Tractor to School Day on Friday, March 11th. Please watch for our students on the road and please take a minute to appreciate their skill!

Hidden in Plain Sight

Hidden in Plain Sight” is a traveling adult educational program sponsored by the Copley and Bath Township police departments.  This program is designed to educate parents on the signs of hidden drug use. The Lorain County Sheriff’s Department will also be on hand to work with parents.

FLSD will host this free event on March 21st at SAMS. Doors open at 6:00 pm and the ‘snoop and search’ begins immediately.

Birmingham United Methodist Church

The BUMC will be hosting its first Chicken Dinner of the year on April 20th. Please visit their Facebook page for additional information. The BUMC has supported the FLSD  for many years. We thank them for their kindness!

Monster Fast Pitch Softball

Join the Monster Fast Pitch Softball organization for their Second Annual Monsters Comedy Benefit on March 5th. The event will be held at the New Russia Township Complex. This a 21 year and older event that will host NE Ohio’s top comedians. Please visit for additional information including ticket purchase.

Ohio Monsters Fastpitch specializes in high level performance, competitive club team development, and participation in premier competition for girls tournament play. Several of our students work with this organization and would appreciate your support.


Many events are planned to support the Might Falcon Marching Band. Please consider adding some or all of these upcoming events to your calendar!
