A simple holiday idea to warm some difficult circumstances won a national award for a Firelands High School FFA chapter.

Firelands students won one of four 2015 National Model of Innovation Chapter Awards, said Shanna Finnegan, agriculture educator and FFA advisor at Firelands.

Students reveal their skills at Lorain County Art Show

Nearly 130 art pieces were entered into the 32nd Annual Lorain County High School Art Exhibit this month. Ten high schools in the county are participating in this year’s event at the Elyria Public Library including Amherst Steele, Firelands, and Wellington.
