Athletics Update, October 26th, 2015

XC regional 2015

Cross Country:

On Saturday the boys placed 3rd as a team in the district XC meet earning all members a spot at regionals in Tiffin this coming Saturday. The boys runners were Ian Valerius, Ian Crawford, Matthew Brightbill, Nick Squires, Zach Baldwin, Pablo Baranco, and Charlie Yonts.

On the girls side Tori Hritsko (13th) placed in the top 16 to earn a trip a spot at regionals in Tiffin this Saturday as well. The DII Girls race will take place at 11:45am while the DII Boys race will take place at 2:45pm.

Corey 2015Boys Soccer

The boys soccer team has shown great growth this season by defeating Co-PAC Champions Buckeye & Brookside in consecutive tournament games. The boys earned a sectional championship with their 2-1 victory over Brookside on Saturday. The boys will play again on Wednesday in a district semi-final game @ Bay. 7pm kick-off. This is the 3rd consecutive season the boys soccer program has won at least 10 games. Good Luck on Wednesday!

 

vb 2015Volleyball

The volleyball team avenged two regular season losses to PAC Champion, Buckeye with a 3-1 victory on Wednesday night. The Falcons handed Buckeye only its second loss of the season to a PAC school as they finished conference play 15-1.The team will compete again in a district semi-final match @ Holy Name on Tuesday night with a 6pm start. Good Luck on Tuesday!

The JV Football game will be played @ Keystone HS on Thursday at 5pm. Please note the game will not take place on Saturday. Good Luck JV Team!

 

 

FB 2015Varsity Football 

This coming Friday, 10/30/15, will be the last regular season home game of the 2015 season. All Fall Senior athletes will be honored prior to the game in a ceremony hosted by the FHS Student Council. The varsity football game will kick-off at 7pm as we host the Keystone Wildcats. The football team is currently ranked 7th in Division IV Region 11. The top 8 teams qualify for the state football playoffs. Good Luck to the Varsity team on Friday!

 

Winter Sports

The winter season is set to gear up with tryouts and practices over the next few weeks. MS Basketball and Girls HS Basketball have already started. This is a reminder that all students need an OHSAA Physical, Emergency Medical Form, Insurance Waiver, and Concussion Form on file to participate in any activity. No forms – No participation.
