Community Service Project – IN HONOR OF OUR VETERANS

Mrs. Trunzo’s  8th grade class voted to honor our veterans of the armed forces with this very special Community Service project. The class began researching organizations that offered assistance for Veterans. They discovered “Valor Home” and voted to send the proceeds to support this outstanding service.

Valor Homes provide housing for homeless and at-risk veterans.  One is located in our own Lorain County and is connected to the Veterans Health Clinic.  The Valor Home provides veterans with housing, job-training and other services.  Veterans can stay at the Valor Home for up to two years.

Two of the students added a short description of this service in our Falcon News – Trunzo 5-12. Nichole and Logan had this to say about the project: ” Valor Homes provide housing for homeless and at-risk veterans. One is located in our own Lorain County and is connected to the Veterans Health Clinic. The Valor Home provides veterans with housing, job-training, and other services. Veterans can stay at the Valor Home for up to two years. The Valor Home helps Veterans get a new start in life.”

Throughout this school year students have worked on assembling patriotic items that will be offered for a donation starting May 19, 2015 during students’ lunch time.
