A year ago, Firelands struggled to amass 12 points and finished dead last in the Patriot Athletic Conference Tournament.

During a four-game Southwestern Conference stretch, Westlake managed to earn four wins, including pivotal victories over Berea-Midpark and Avon Lake.

Westlake improved to 15-5 overall and 9-1 in the conference and has taken a one-game lead in the SWC over Berea-Midpark (14-6 overall, 8-2 in conference) after defeating the Titans, 49-36, on Feb. 7.

Firelands’ Keely Hall relaxation in the final seconds of the game propelled the Falcons to a non conference win over the New London Wildcats, 36-35.
