FHS Students Compete in Art Show

The 2014 Lorain County High School Art Exhibition

The 32nd annual Lorain County High School Art Exhibition invites all public and private high school art departments in the county to enter work for this showcase.   The exhibition is hosted by the Midway Mall in Elyria from Mon. Nov. 3 through Fri. Nov. 21. You can find the exhibition between J.C.Penney and Finish Line Sports stores.

This year Firelands High School is represented by a group of 10 students from grades 9-12. Freshmen Emily Holcomb and Faith Rico and junior Moeko China are displaying pen and colored pencil zentangle mandala designs.  Junior Olivia Mowry is displaying a colored pencil and ink self-portrait.  Watercolor botanical studies of autumn leaves were completed from life and are displayed by junior Julia Ohle, and seniors Maisie Bonnett, Alex Hertensteiner, Brad Midkiff, Rachel Nitchman and Ashley Rister. The students are competing for “School Excellence” and “Best in Show” distinctions.
