Michaela Jeffers, a junior at FHS, completed a one week internship in July at the main campus of The Cleveland Clinic with Dr. Frank Papay. She is the only high school student that he has allowed to shadow him. Dr. Papay is The Chairman of Plastic Surgery and Dermatology Departments. He sees patients from all over the world. He is noted from performing the first American Face Transplant. He is also accredited  for the innovation of the First Robotic Endoscopic Nerve Interpositional Graft, Endoscopic Repair of Skull Base Cerebral Spinal Fluid leaks, along with many more. She was also very fortunate to observe Dr. Risal S. Djohan and Dr. Ivo Gwanmesia. During her time at the Clinic, Michaela was able to observe numerous surgeries every day from reconstructions to cosmetic procedures, aided in pre-op and post-op care and also saw patients during clinic hours.  She also documented surgeries by taking pictures, recording, and taking notes for Dr. Papay for pathology in the OR.  Michaela is an honor student, a member of the Teen Leadership Council, President of The International Club and plays the bass drum in the Mighty Falcon Marching Band at Firelands High School. She is also a soloist, competitive dancer, and student teacher at the Midwest School of Ballet.
