The Fireland Falcons took to the ground and forced their will on the Oberlin Phoenix on Sept. 26, coming out with a one-sided 48-0 road victory.
It was a running-by-committee appr0ach for the Falcons, with each back bringing his own signature and style to the attack. Aaron Stevanus was ready to contribute traditional, bruising between-the-tackles runs. Codie Wilson and Michael Whitacre complemented that with perfectly executed jet sweeps and misdirection. And junior quarterback Brad Thrasher capped the ground assault off with extremely effective ball handing with the read option.
