WELLINGTON — In her final game of her high school softball career, Firelands’ Emma Ranney made it count.
She pitched 6 2/3 innings, striking out five batters, allowing two runs on four hits. Ranney also had two hits and three RBI as the Black All-Stars beat the Purple All-Stars, 10-2.
“It’s exciting. It gives you a lot of self-confidence,” Ranney said of her all-around performance. “Mainly, overall, if you’re having fun and are relaxed, I feel like you’re going to do better on both sides.”
Leading, 3-0, going into the bottom of the fourth inning, the Black Team tacked on three more runs.
