Volunteers from The Oberlin Underground Railroad Society and Nordson Corporation coordinated an Earth Day activity on April 22, 2014 for the first graders at FES. The children learned how trees are grown and harvested for the making of paper, and then turned into packaging materials that are also recyclable and renewable.
The children were also provided a Norway sapling that they planted in a paperboard carton as part of this program.

Thank you to The Oberlin Underground Railroad Society and to Nordson Corporation for taking the time with our first graders. This is the second year that this program has been held at FES and over 300 saplings have been planted!
