FAVA, the Firelands Association for the Visual Arts, in Oberlin was in desperate need of a studio overhaul. Their classroom was overflowing with art materials and furniture that needed to be managed. Yarn needed to be untangled, the sink scoured, the floor cleaned, paint and glue refilled and shelves sorted and stocked. It would take a small army to “reset” the studio to be ready for spring semester classes. That small army was the FHS Art Society! The students performed this kind act of community service afterschool on Jan. 22 and all day Sat. Feb. 1. The studio now has a functional space, thanks to the helpful hands in Art Society.
FAVA is ever grateful to these “art angels” for volunteering their time to help restore their studio!
