Firelands FFA Held a very Successful Citrus Sale

ffa fruit donation

Aaron Wickes with his donation to Second Harvest

The FFA Citrus sale is the largest fund-raiser that the FFA holds each year.  This year the FFA sold 1250 full cases of oranges, tangelos, and grapefruit.  This is nearly 100 boxes more than the old record set last year.  The FFA would like to thank all of our customers for their support.  Further, we would like to thank all of our parents for all of your help.

Aaron Wickes, a four year senior FFA member, had a creative idea to increase sales and to help those in need.  Aaron sold 8.5 boxes (279 lbs) that were donated directly to Second Harvest Food Bank. Aaron asked his customers if they would like to buy a box of fruit to donated to the food bank, all they had to do was pay him and he delivered the fruit for them.  Second Harvest was thankful for the donation of fresh fruit.

Hopefully FFA members in the future will adopt this practice to continue this valuable community service and increasing fundraiser sales.
