Mrs. Mary Kaminski is a familiar face around Firelands, but did you know that she has been working with the FLSD since 1998? She started as an aide at FES and later moved to FHS. In 2012 she became the special education clerk and remains in that position today.
Mrs. Kaminski said, “The thing that I like the most about working at Firelands is that the staff is some of the most wonderful people I’ve ever met. I feel very blessed to be a part of the FLSD and I have formed many lasting friendships. The aspect of my job as a special education clerk, that I enjoy most, is the challenge of figuring what data the state requires and entering it into power school. This has proven to be a challenge at times and I love it”!
Mrs. Kaminski grew up in Rochester, PA. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Carlow University in Pittsburgh, PA. She continues to be loyal to her home state~she is a Steelers fan!
She has been married to her husband, Mark, for 23 years. He is a production manager at the Murray Ridge workshop in Elyria and an EMT at Oberlin hospital. They have 2 children, Chelsea 22 who is working on her Masters degree in Occupational Therapy and Cole 11 who is a 6th grader at SAMS.
Her hobbies include fishing, hiking, watching birds, reading, and playing with her I pad. Mrs. Kaminski also likes to spend time with her family; going on hikes with her husband, playing soccer with her son, or catching a movie with her daughter. She also enjoys trying new things that she finds on Pinterest.
Her kind words and dedication to the district is truly admirable! We are happy to have Mrs. Kaminski as part of the Firelands Family!
