FHS/LCJVS students participate in program to promote literacy

Students in the carpentry program at LCJVS had the opportunity to help promote literacy throughout the county recently.  The Stocker Foundation, with the Lorain County Educational Service Center is funding a countywide literacy program that will install up to 30 unique Free Libraries.

These libraries are small unique custom-made buildings – one is a barn, one has a nautical theme. These holding containers are placed all over the county and people borrow reading material without the normal constraints of a traditional library.

A Firelands and LCJVS student, Michael Henery, is pictured in the article working on one of the library boxes.
